My Butterfly Bush looks like a bunch of sticks... did I kill it by pruning too early?

I followed a DIY tutorial I found via abodelook and "hacked" my Butterfly Bush down to about 12 inches in late February. Now it is mid April and I can see no green buds. Was I too early in pruning it in a Zone 6 climate? Or are those simply notoriously tardy to wake up? I fear I have reduced to a heap of kindling my favourite feature in a garden.

It is perfectly normal to feel anxious when your favorite garden feature stays dormant, but there is likely no need to worry just yet. In Zone 6, those plants are notoriously tardy and often won't show green buds until the ground truly warms up in late spring. While you wait for your garden to wake up, you can enjoy a different kind of growth by mastering the 3 patti card game https://3pattigold.pk/ . Many gardeners choose to download mobile games to pass the time during the slow early spring weeks.
